AMPLIFIERS (NEW) : REINHARDT AMPS

Reinhardt knows how important good tone is to creating great music,
and that is their number one goal — to make that tone in your head come to life.

The 18 Head

Reinhardt’Äôs first product, and still one of the all-time favorites, is the 18.  Based on the 18 watt Marshall (tm) with a few circuit changes.  Goes anywhere from sweet clean tones, to classic rock, to heavier gain, but not too heavy.  Think AC/DC, Van Halen, ABB, etc.  This amp does it all, and does it so well.  Touch sensitivity on either channel is second to none.  Play lightly, it's sweet cleans, dig in a little and its mild bluesy overdrive.  Dig in harder and its Classic rock at its finest.  No need for pedals with this, but it loves a good boost as well.  Do not confuse with the original 18 watt Marshall amp, this amp has all that, and much more.

The first channel, or "normal" channel is based on the stock amp, nice chimey cleans to a killer smokey blues.  Great feel and dynamics.

The second channel or "bright" channel is the hot-rodded channel.  This channel has had the tremolo removed, and another gain stage and full range EQ added in its place.  With a master volume on this channel, it can go from amazing chimey clean to nice crunchy gritty blues, to a killer classic and hard rock tone.   No over the top heavy muddy gain here, but a killer hot plexi level.

For those who wonder if 18 watts is enough to gig with, the answer is YES.  Several customers report that its great to be able to turn an amp up enough at a gig to get that sweet power tube distortion without being yelled at be the soundman, or the club owner.  Easily loud enough to be heard over all but the most heavy-handed drummer.

The Titan

Based on the 18, but doubled.  Thats right, for those who thought the 18 was not big enough, Reinhardt now offers that same basic design, but in a 4 EL84 platform, for 36 watts of  power.  This amp does everything the 18 does, and then  more.   Also available in a 4X6v6 version for the 6v6 lovers.
If you are playing on a bigger stage, or need a little more clean headroom, or just want that extra "whoop ass" the Titan delivers.   It has the same amazing tone of our 18, same touch sensitivity and feel, same classic sounds, but at more power to deliver the knockout punch.
The normal channel is based on the stock 18 normal channel, with a few subtle changes.  it has an amazing chimey clean, and can get a killer gritty smokey blues when pushed.
The bright channel has all of that, and much more.  It has a master volume, for a great gain control, and a full range EQ for dialing in the tones you want.  With the gain down, it has an amazing shimmering clean that is unbeatable, and goes into a nice crunchy blues with a slight adjustment.  With more gain dialed in, it will do the classic rock, early hard rock thing perfectly.  Think hot-rodded old Marshall tones and gain.  None of the oversaturated mushy gain here.   The Titan has more filtering in the power, and screen sections to help control any extra noise or ghosting from the 2 extra power tubes.

The Storm

Based on the classic 50 watt amps of the late 70's through the 80's, the Storm delivers all the kick ass rock tones you are looking for.  More gain than the Vintage 50, by quite a bit.  This mp is set up with 2 gain adjustments.  You can dial in a nice clean tone to a killer crunch. Want old VH punch and crunch?  Look no further. Set up as a 2 channel amp, it has a low and a high channel. It comes stock with a footswitch to switch from low to high. It’Äôs a very big, powerful JCM800 type amp, without the "ice pick" that some of them were famous for.
As with all Reinhardt amps, it responds very well to the guitar’Äôs volume control and to your pick attack.   No overly compressed, non dynamic mud.  The Storm is very articulate, and touch-sensitive. This amp does have a master volume, but it’Äôs an older, non post phase type master, meaning it will not get you heavy preamp gain at whisper volume; it will require you to be turned up a little bit. It will break up pretty early, but it’Äôs not really preamp saturated; it’Äôs more old school JCM800 type gain levels down low

Power section is 2 EL34s, and the preamp uses 3 12ax7's.  Solid state rectification keeps this amp tight, even when wound up.

The Storm is built with the same attention to detail, and high quality of all of our amps.  Heyboer transformers, hand-assembled and wired with ARS filter caps, "Dijon" coupling caps, NOS carbon comp resistors in all critical locations.  Chassis are welded for extra support and durability, and switches are all heavy duty units for long trouble-free service.

Vintage 50

Based on the classic 50-watt amps of the late 60's through the mid 70's, the Vintage 50 delivers all the classic rock tones you want. Offered two ways, the Lead version has more of a mid and upper mid emphasis, and the Bass version has a smoother, rounder tone.

Both versions are a 4-input, non master volume setup, with a shared set of tone controls.  The Vintage 50 has a killer, sweet full clean tone, and starts to get gritty around 4 on the volume.  From 4 on up, it gets thicker and smoother crunch tones.  As with all of our amps, it responds very well to the guitar’Äôs volume control and to your pick attack. When wound up, it gets a nice gritty clean, or clean with a little hair on it, by rolling the volume back on the guitar.  Go from there to singing leads with just a turn of the guitars volume.

Power section is 2 EL34's OR 2 KT66's, and the preamp uses 3 12ax7's.  Solid state rectification keeps this amp tight even when wound up.

It is built with the same attention to detail and high quality of all of Reinhardt amps. Custom wound Heyboer transformers recreated from a teardown of the Drake 784-139 OT, hand assembled and wired with Mil Spec PEC pots, ARS filter caps, "Dijon" coupling caps, NOS carbon comp resistors in all critical locations.  Chassis are welded for extra support and durability, and switches are all heavy duty units for long trouble-free service.  I am constantly testing preamp tubes for the best possible combination of tubes.
I have also been testing the use of KT66's in this amp, and its amazing.  All amps are now set up with the ability to adjust for KT66's, to give you that early Page, Clapton, etc type tone.

MI-6

A variation on a theme.  Reinhardt is happy to announce the birth of another amp, the MI-6.

Based on the same outstanding circuit as the 18, and with the same qualities, but with a 6V6 twist.  For those who prefer the 6v6 platform for the power tubes, it’Äôs the classic 18 preamp mated with the traditional 6v6 tone.  This amp has been tweaked to provide that classic Marshall tone also, but with slightly less high end chime than the el84 tubes provide.  A bit thicker. Like all of my amps, this is available with any number of custom voicings and options.

This amp is set up with 2 separate and distinct channels.  The first channel is a little on the cleaner side, but will get a nice grinding blues crunch when pushed hard.
The second channel is set up with a master volume, and a full range EQ.  It can go from a nice shimmering clean to a killer ballsy blues to a great classic rock crunch.  Not over the top mushy gain, but a great classic singing gain, think hot plexi or hot blackface levels of gain.  Very articulate and touch sensitive.

JKC 33

Based on the Reinhardt Vintage 50, this amp was designed with the gigging musician in mind.  Special lower-powered output transformer delivers about 30 watts.  This amp was designed for venues where 50 watts would be too much.  You can wind this amp up to enable it to produce that sweet tone at reduced volume.
Just like the Vintage 50, this amp is a 4 input, non master volume setup, with a shared set of tone controls.  The JKC 33 has a killer, sweet, full, clean tone, and starts to get gritty around 4 on the volume.  From 4 on up, it gets thicker and smoother crunch tones.  As with all Reinhardt  amps, it responds very well to the guitar’Äôs volume control and your pick attack. When wound up, it gets a nice gritty clean, or clean with a little hair on it, by rolling the volume back on the guitar.  Go from there to singing leads with just a turn of the guitar’Äôs volume.
Power section is 2 EL34's or 2 KT66's and the preamp uses 3 12ax7's.  Solid state rectification keeps this amp tight’Äìeven when wound up. Custom wound Heyboer transformers, hand assembled and wired with Mil Spec PEC pots, ARS filter caps, "Dijon" coupling caps, NOS carbon comp resistors in all critical locations.  Chassis are welded for extra support and durability, and switches are all heavy-duty units for long trouble-free service.

Vintage 100

The Vintage 100 is a 100-watt version of the Vintage 50.  Big, bold and powerful, this amp will fill the largest rooms with tone.  Built with a nice, deep, full tone, there is no ice-pick harshness here.  The goal with the V100 was to try to recreate the old, late-’Äò60s tones, retaining the ’Äò70s grind, without the harshness associated with the ’Äò70s amps.  According to the customers, we have accomplished that goal.  Reinhardt has also incorporated a vintage/modern switch into the amp. In the vintage mode, it’Äôs thicker and rounder, and in the modern mode, it gets clearer with more attack.  The Vintage 100 gives you a nice variation in flavors.

This amp is a 4-input, non-master volume setup, which is LOUD. It is the perfect platform for those who play the biggest stage or those who like to get a good, loud, punchy, cleanish tone, using pedals to shape tone.
The Vintage 100 has a killer, sweet, full, clean tone and starts to get gritty around 4 on the volume. From 4 on up it gets thicker and smoother crunch tones. As with all Reinhardt amps it responds very well to the guitar’Äôs volume control and to pick attack. When wound up it gets a nice, gritty clean, or clean with a little hair on it, by rolling the volume back on the guitar.  Go from there to singing leads with just a turn of the guitar’Äôs volume.

Power section is 4EL34's, but you can also use 4 kt66's for the sweet tone that they give up as well. The preamp uses 3 12ax7's. Solid state rectification keeps this amp tight’Äîeven when wound up.
The Vintage 100 is built with the same attention to detail and high quality of all Reinhardt amps. Custom wound Heyboer OT, hand assembled and wired with Mil Spec PEC pots, ARS filter caps, "Dijon"  and mallory and sozo coupling caps, NOS carbon comp resistors in all critical locations.  Chassis are welded for extra support and durability, and switches are all heavy duty units for long, trouble-free service.

The Jester

The Jester is a medium gain 4 EL84 amp pushing about 40 watts.  2 inputs, and no master volume. Styled after the legendary Liverpool amp, it has a high and  low input on the same channel.  This amp is tremendously responsive to the guitar’Äôs volume and to pick dynamics. It will break into controlled feedback with ease. Need it to clean up?  Roll back on the guitar and play with a softer touch, and it has a beautiful, clean tone with just the right amount of "hair" around it to give it a sweet character.  Want some crunch?  Roll the guitar up a bit, or play with a heavier pick hand and be rewarded with a rich, full crunch tone. If you need more drive, turn the guitar up and put the amp on about 6 and let it go.
Plate-driven tone stack as compared to the traditional Marshall-style cathode follower makes the tone controls very active.

Ampzilla

The Ampzilla is a higher gain amp’Äînot up to the gain levels of some of the modern high gain amps, but way more aggressive than a super lead-type amp, but with more response and character.  It is a non master volume-type amp, meaning it won’Äôt get you oversaturated all preamp gain tones at whisper volumes; it is meant to be opened up. This amp is undergoing a constant R&D program with the latest design sporting a footswitchable 2 channel setup.  The first channel is pretty hot; it originally was inspired by an Express with the 2nd channel adding in an extra gain stage, which gives the amp a very thick, singing lead tone. This amp is available with 2 EL34's.  The EL34’Äôs can be swapped out for 6V6’Äôs with just a simple rebias and adjustment of the ohm selector.   Biasing is simplified with external pin jacks and a locking external pot, so the amp never has to come out of its box.  Just pull the back panel, insert your voltmeter into the pin jacks, unlock the brake, and turn the knob.  So simple your wife could do it (although we don’Äôt suggest that).

The Sentinel

The Sentinel is based on the KT66 platform of the old Bluesbreaker’Äîwith a few twists. Reinhardt is now shipping the amp with the new TAD 6L6WGC tubes or with the Chinese KT66's. The amp still has that killer vintage vibe.  4 inputs, a higher gain brighter side, and a lower gain darker side. Original design was a shared cathode in the first preamp tube which gives the amp its overall darkness, but Reinhardt incorporates a Vintage/Modern switchable first stage from shared cathode to split cathode, which will make the amp a little brighter and more aggressive, giving it that classic lead snarl.  Like all Reinhardt  amps, only the best components are used, and each amp is built to last a lifetime. Also, they can custom-tailor each amp to the buyer with subtle voicing and gain structure changes.  Reinhardt also supplies each amp with a tube rectifier and a plug-in solid state rectifier, so you can get the softness and compression of the tube, or plug in the solid state replacement and tighten the amp up if you want a tighter, less "squishy" feel, which is especially useful with higher gain pedals.
